The Mother of all Big Wave Surf Contests
Presented by Slut in association with Porthleven Dinghy Club, the first ever World Dinghy Championships will take place on the infamous main reef at Porthleven in Cornwall on the biggest, best, most crowded and overly hyped day of winter 2012. The exact date will be decided by mother nature herself, so if you would like to be notified as soon as the contest director gives the event the green light, just sign up further down this page. The Rules A no holds barred, all against all, one hour heat where the best wave wins and the winner takes all. There will also be an award for the best photo of the event, to be voted for online afterwards. Own watercraft is essential as is a willingness to party afterwards. Safety Wills are to be completed before the contest, and the legendary Porthleven Dinghy Club will be at hand, to make sure there are minimal deaths during the event. Although no previous sailing experience is necessary, anyone wishing to take part in the event must provide a copy of their 25 metre swimming certificate, and PDC's Mongalloyd is insisting armbands are to be worn by all competitors.
